Gustav Holst

Gustav Holst is best known for his revolutionary orchestral works such as The Planets and even his wind band pieces, First Suite in E-Flat for Military Band and Second Suite in F for Military Band. Holst, being a trombonist always favored the brass section in near all his works. However, it is often overlooked that he wrote a piece for Brass Band.

A Moorside Suite has become a staple in British Brass Band literature and has seen arrangements in orchestral and wind band settings, the latter being quite popular among wind bands today.
